Counting Down the Days!

Okay, we're down to the last week now. I've actually gotten quite a bit done in the 'not NaNo' stuff. Still have to put Vision together and get some payments made. (Waiting for money to clear the bank to PayPal, and for another check to make deposit.)

I have only a few more manuscripts sitting in the DTF submissions folder. I'll have those done in a day or two. Yay!

I have a second novel for NaNo, too. It's not the Mirrors sequel, which I just couldn't get to fall together. It's an sf novel called Feather in the Wind. I've handwritten up a bunch of notes and I'm going to try and type them in tonight.

Hmmm.... have to find my printed out notes for Kat Among the Pigeons. I added a few new points to it and I need to get them typed in. I would like to have at least 200 points for the outline. I want 100,000 words, or close to it. 200 points would mean I need to write 500 words for each one, which isn't too bad. I would prefer about 300, but somehow I don't think I'm going to get the story broken down that far. (grin)

I need to do my Excel sheet as well.

I did do a cover for Feather in the Wind. My, that's really helpful, right? Except the main character looks too young on the cover. Oh well. I can fix that later.

I think this book should be about 70 to 80,000 words. I don't know if I'll get it worked out well enough, though. I'm kind of floundering here in the middle, trying to decide where it should go from here. And it won't have as many outline points as it should, no matter what I do. If I get 100 I'll be lucky, which means I'll probably be writing about 1000 words per point... and some of them definitely are not going to be able to inspire that much work.

I'll just have to see how it goes. Kat Among the Pigeons is the one I'm really interested in anyway. And I still have another outline if I decide that Feather in the Wind isn't going to work for me.

So there. That's my preparations so far. Just a few more things to get done!

Hey Congrats to you on your publication deal. Woohoo! One day it will be me. I just read where you said you do your 'excel sheet'. I never heard anyone else doing that on Nano. I do it too, and just finished mine today. Good Luck this year, but you won't need it!
